Impressive website for every target group
Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI)
The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) is an internationally recognised research institute that combines innovative research with dedicated patient care. This combination allows for a rapid translation of fundamental and clinical research into new treatments to outsmart cancer. "Today's research for tomorrow's cure." Read about the creation of the new website in this NKI customer case.
The challenge
"It was a challenge to tailor the NKI website to the desired target group. To this end, we conducted target group research together with Basic Orange and determined the ideal customer journey for each target group. We have translated this into a powerful visual design that appeals to the target group. Another challenge was the limited budget for healthcare clients such as the NKI. Because despite the limited budget, the bar is of course set high. Thanks to Basic Orange, we were able to create a site with a real wow factor."
Why Basic Orange
"Basic Orange was a logical choice for us. Previously, the organisation has realised several domains for the NKI-NKI. As a result, a number of parts of the AVL site could be reused. This resulted in major cost savings. In addition, the renewal of the AVL website was a true top performance of the joint team of AVL and Basic Orange. The NKI-AVL wanted to achieve the same success with the renewal of the NKI website."
The collaboration
"The collaboration between Basic Orange and the NKI went well. The lines of communication were short and the sprints were well facilitated. Basic Orange had a clear idea of where the priority lay and knew how to be flexible. Within a project with a limited budget, choices always have to be made. This went well from both parties."
The result
"The website has become very user-friendly. NKI is now easier to find online and the international appeal of young talent has increased. We are most proud of the visual design, responsiveness and the ability for each research group to start their own blog within the NKI website. Everything is also a lot clearer now. In the future, we want to do various optimisations, such as improving the search function and integrating a Flippingbook."
