Amivedi
Amivedi is the largest volunteer organisation in the Netherlands that registers lost and found pets. All volunteers work from home with the computer and telephone. There are no fewer than 110 regional hotlines nationwide. All with the aim of bringing your runaway pet home as quickly as possible.
Backbone of the organisation
Antoine Lelieveld, former chairman, explains in this video: "In 2000, missing pets were still collected at a central location, typed over and sent through the country via paper lists." Amivedi and Basic Orange looked at how the power of the internet can help with this. Since then, all reports of lost and found pets have been stored in the database via the website and checked, supplemented and monitored by the volunteers of the hotlines. Antoine: "Over the years, the Amivedi site has really become the backbone of the foundation, to which all volunteers are connected."
Facebook, Email Marketing & Umbraco 8
Basic Orange helped with the set-up of the regional hotline pages on Facebook. Through social media, Amivedi's visibility has increased enormously: missing pets are more quickly identified and reunited with their owner. It is also very easy to make contact with Amivedi via Facebook. Basic Orange also assists with e-mail and social media marketing.
The Content Management System is currently being updated to Umbraco 8. This is to ensure the user-friendliness, performance, security and continuity of the systems.
